The ninth National Architecture Days will be held on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October 2024. The aim of these days is to bring together initiatives that contribute to the discovery of architecture and its professions by the general public.

2024 theme

New lives for buildings and new architectural practices

At a time when the challenges posed by the ecological transition are calling for continued efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, the refurbishment of existing buildings appears to be essential.

Firstly, because of the sheer number of buildings involved. Residential, administrative, industrial, agricultural and commercial buildings – all of these everyday places offer opportunities for transforming existing buildings.

Secondly, because this transformation holds great promise: new uses, bringing nature and the city closer together, using materials with a low environmental impact, taking biodiversity into account. The skills and expertise of architects can help to meet these new expectations, which are so popular with local residents.

Building, co-building: the architect’s new responsibility is illustrated by his ability to support local collaboration and dialogue with users. The Ministry of Culture pays particular attention to the quality of this dialogue.

The Architecture Department is committed to working alongside professionals, elected representatives and associations to support this dialogue on a daily basis. The Journées nationales de l’architecture provide an opportunity to celebrate these links, and to bring this culture of exchange and dialogue to the heart of the relationships that unite all those involved in architecture.

Arte Charpentier’s part in the 2024 edition

A transformation that offers new uses and brings the city closer to nature: Sequana

We invite you to discover the worksite of Sequana refurbishment project during the National Architecture Days 2024.

‘For Arte Charpentier, regeneration projects are an opportunity to build the city on the city, improve quality of life and reduce urban sprawl. For us, the restructuring of Sequana is an opportunity to rediscover and reveal the full potential of this property complex. ’
