On Tuesday 5 November 2024, Raquel Milagres, Deputy Managing Director of Arte Charpentier, took part in the ‘’Annual Conference of the Observatory of the Economy of Architecture‘’ at the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine. Every year, this event brings together players in the profession to discuss economic dynamics and developments in the architectural sector.

The Architecture and Design Accelerator: driving innovation and growth strategy at Arte Charpentier

At a round table discussion on support schemes for architectural firms, Raquel Milagres explained why Arte Charpentier had decided to join the first session of Bpifrance’s Architecture and Design Accelerator. In a rapidly changing context, marked by economic and societal challenges, this accelerator offers a structured framework for optimising the strategy and strengthening the management and development capabilities of architectural firms.

For Arte Charpentier, which was founded in 1969 and has a hundred or so employees based in Paris, Lyon, Shanghai and Wuhan, this initiative is an opportunity to equip itself with strategic and operational tools that respond to changes in the sector. The integration of new digital and technological approaches, combined with the consolidation of the CSR approach and commitments to sustainability, represents a priority for the firm in order to remain a pioneer in its field.

Mobilising teams around a shared vision: a rewarding experience

Raquel Milagres also highlighted the importance of the 360° audit carried out with Bpifrance consultants. This in-depth audit provided the firm with valuable insight into its strengths and future prospects. Thanks to fruitful exchanges, this analysis has helped to consolidate the firm’s vision in terms of governance, development and communication, while encouraging the support of all employees.

The accelerator’s themed seminars and specialist workshops – covering key topics such as leadership, marketing, finance and the energy transition – have enabled Arte Charpentier to actively engage its teams in this transformation process. Depending on the topics addressed, various members of the firm took part in the sessions, reinforcing cohesion and commitment around the firm’s strategic challenges.

A network of expertise to strengthen Arte Charpentier’s prospects

By taking part in the Architecture and Design Accelerator, Arte Charpentier benefits from a network of expertise that helps it to anticipate the challenges facing the sector and innovate to meet tomorrow’s expectations. Exchanges with other partner firms, brought together by Bpifrance, have provided an inspiring dynamic, encouraging the sharing of experience and best practice.

Building on this experience, Arte Charpentier has been able to launch new initiatives, consolidating its commitment to sustainable, humane architecture that meets the needs of today and the challenges of tomorrow.
